Recap: Miramar Patriots vs. Miami Country Day Spartans
The Miramar Patriots proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 20) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Miami Country Day 48-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Miramar has posted yet this season.
Leading Miramar to victory were Mekhi Hudson-Dillard and Joshua Skinner. Hudson-Dillard scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Skinner dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Hudson-Dillard continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Miramar is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Miami Country Day, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.
Miramar won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against King's Academy at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. One thing working in King's Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Miami Country Day will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Don Soffer Aventura at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Don Soffer Aventura will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 508th, while Miami Country Day is ranked 173rd).
