Softball Recap: Jacobs Comes Up Short

Jacobs suffered their biggest defeat since May 3rd on Friday. They came up short against the Sycamore Spartans, falling 12-3. If the Golden Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 11-0 to the Spartans when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jacobs saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendall Davignon, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Jacobs now has a losing record of 17-18. As for Sycamore, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 26-5-1.

Coming up, Jacobs will challenge Lake Zurich at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sycamore, they will welcome Yorkville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 2.8, the Foxes 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
