Volleyball Recap: Sunnyslope Falls Short Against Ranked Millennium

Sunnyslope faced Millennium in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Vikings lost 3-0 to the Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vikings have suffered against the Tigers since November 7, 2018.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Millennium scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-21, 25-20.

Vega Tunnell paced Sunnyslope's offense, picking up 12 kills. Tunnell got some help from Jaelyn Simmons and her 12 assists. Tunnell was also solid from the service line: she led the team with 11 aces.

Sunnyslope's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Millennium, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-10.

Sunnyslope has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Desert Vista on the 2nd. As for Millennium, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Xavier College Prep on the 2nd.
