Basketball Recap: Crawford Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Crawford won the last time they faced Kearny, and Mickelson Laguerre did his part to make sure it happened again. The Crawford Colts walked away with a 66-58 victory over the Kearny Komets on Friday thanks in part to Laguerre, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 boards. He has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last five times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Khalid Elmi, who posted eight points and five rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Crawford's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. As for Kearny, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-6 record.

Crawford and West Hills will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. West Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season. As for Kearny, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against High Tech Mesa at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Kearny's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.
