Soccer Game Preview: Terry Sanford vs. Triton

The Terry Sanford Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Triton Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Terry Sanford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.6 goals per game this season.

Terry Sanford is headed into Tuesday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Pine Forest.

Taylor Stangle and Sophia Mercado scored both of Terry Sanford's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 28 goals.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Triton challenged Western Harnett last Thursday. The Hawks beat the Eagles by a goal, winning 2-1.

Triton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9-1 record this season. As for Terry Sanford, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.

Terry Sanford took their win against Triton when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
