Volleyball Recap: Amherst-Pelham Regional Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Amherst-Pelham Regional was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Frontier Regional on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hurricanes lost 3-0 to the Longmeadow Lancers on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Amherst-Pelham Regional was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-14, 25-17.

Leading Longmeadow to victory were Tess Tonsing and Annie Kro. Tonsing had 12 digs and three aces, while Kro had nine digs. That's the most digs Tonsing has posted over her last six contests. Ella Rovithis also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Amherst-Pelham Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Longmeadow, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amherst-Pelham Regional will square off against Wahconah Regional at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Longmeadow, they will face off against Mount Greylock Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
