Baseball Game Preview: Carle Place Frogs vs. East Rockaway Rocks

For the second straight game, Carle Place will face off against East Rockaway. The Frogs are taking a road trip to take on the Rocks at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Carle Place is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

While Carle Place's victory against East Rockaway wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Frogs had just enough and edged out the Rocks 2-1 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Frogs have posted since April 3rd.

Philip Bunt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Patrick McCarthy was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Carle Place hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matches.
