Volleyball Recap: Cheyenne Desert Shields vs. Bonanza Bengals
Cheyenne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bonanza Bengals. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bengals this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-1 loss back in September.
While Cheyenne had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 25-20.
Jophielle Kovach paced Cheyenne's offense, picking up 17 kills. Kovach got some help from Rebeca Anderson and her 36 assists.
Cheyenne's defeat dropped their record down to 6-24. As for Bonanza, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-12 record this season.
Cheyenne has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Desert Pines on the 16th. Bonanza has also already played their next match (against Western), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
