Basketball Recap: Center Grove Trojans vs. Plainfield Quakers
On Saturday, the Center Grove Trojans beat the Plainfield Quakers 68-60.
Several Quakers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Smith, who went 8 of 10 to rack up 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks. Smith's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Gilliatt, who went 5 for 12 en route to 16 points and six assists.
Center Grove has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Plainfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
Coming up, Center Grove will venture away from home to take on Fishers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Fishers will roll in looking for their 20th straight victory, something Center Grove surely won't give up without a fight. As for Plainfield, they will host Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Plainfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season.
