Baseball Recap: Northridge Wins Going Away Against Lakeland

Northridge's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Lakeland Lakers as they made off with a 15-7 victory. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Lakers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Braxton Nagy looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Brecken Gawthrop and Preston Ryan did most of the damage at the plate: Gawthrop scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Ryan scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Wood, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Northridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeland only posted an OBP of .417.

Northridge now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lakeland, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coincidentally, Northridge and Lakeland will both be playing Westview the next time they take the field. The Lakers will head out to face the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Raiders will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
