Baseball Game Preview: Varela Vipers vs. Miami Christian Victors

Varela is 0-3 against Miami Christian since March of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. Varela will be taking part in a tournament against Miami Christian at 5:00 p.m. Varela's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Miami Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Varela saw some tournament action on Monday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over Piper.

Varela got a great performance from Anthony Harvey as he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Santiago Ponte was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Yoidi Martinez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Miami Christian came up short against Brito on Saturday and fell 5-2.

Varela's win bumped their record up to 10-5-2. As for Miami Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
