Baseball Recap: Santa Clara Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

Santa Clara never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Lynbrook Vikings as they made off with a 13-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won nine in a row.

Bruce Gibson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Andrew Traffas was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jaxton Chao, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Santa Clara always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lynbrook only posted an OBP of .125.

Santa Clara's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.9 runs. As for Lynbrook, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
