Basketball Recap: Mikayla Woods' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Grapeland over Lovelady

Grapeland lost against Lovelady back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Grapeland Sandies lost to the Lovelady Lions on the road by a 50-35 margin. While losing is never fun, the Sandies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 752nd, while the Lions are ranked 330th).

Grapeland lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mikayla Woods, who posted eight points and six steals. Woods is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Terry, who had 11 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Grapeland and nudges their season record down to 12-11. As for Lovelady, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 27-5.

Grapeland has already played their next contest (against Fruitvale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lovelady does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
