Baseball Recap: Copley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Barberton last Monday, Copley came back down to earth. The Indians fell just short of the Roosevelt Rough Riders by a score of 11-9 on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Max Farris led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brody Petry, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Copley has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Roosevelt, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Copley will challenge Barberton at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Roosevelt, they will take on Streetsboro at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
