Baseball Recap: Desert Edge Scorpions vs. Verrado Vipers
Desert Edge had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 4-7 to make it four. They came up short against the Verrado Vipers, falling 14-1. The Scorpions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vipers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Desert Edge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justice Scott, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Rene Ruiz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
As for Verrado, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.
