Baseball Recap: Platteview Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Bennington

Platteview faced Bennington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Platteview fell just short of Bennington by a score of 8-6. That makes it the first time this season the Trojans have let down their home crowd.

Platteview got a good showing from Bryson Banks, who struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Dylan Thomas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Quinn, who went 3-for-4 with one home run.
