Baseball Game Preview: Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans vs. Coronado Cougars

The Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans will take on the Coronado Cougars in a tournament on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Fountain-Fort Carson and eight for Coronado dating back to last season.

Things were looking good for Fountain-Fort Carson after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lewis-Palmer.

Fountain-Fort Carson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Illert, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Coronado had taken Rampart down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Saturday. Coronado fell just short of Rampart by a score of 4-3.

Fountain-Fort Carson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Coronado, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Fountain-Fort Carson came out on top in a nail-biter against Coronado in their previous meeting back in April of 2019, sneaking past 9-8. Does Fountain-Fort Carson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coronado turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
