Softball Game Preview: Glen Allen Jaguars vs. Cosby Titans

The Glen Allen Jaguars will take on the Cosby Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Glen Allen will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Glen Allen is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past James River Midlothian 20-8 on Wednesday. Considering the Jaguars have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jaidyn Tillman made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.

In other batting news, Alison Via was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Maeve Haun, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Glen Allen hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Cosby's offense. They fell 5-0 to Midlothian last Wednesday. The Titans have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Glen Allen's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Cosby, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Cosby's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Glen Allen hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .401.
