Baseball Recap: Dunsmuir Takes a Loss

After flying high against Westwood on Thursday, Dunsmuir came back down to earth. The Tigers fell just short of the Lumberjacks by a score of 10-9 on Thursday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lumberjacks earlier this season, when they won 9-1.

Ari Nova was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Jacob Purvis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Dunsmuir's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Westwood, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Dunsmuir will take on Hayfork at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Westwood, they will welcome Tulelake at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lumberjacks are facing the Honkers at the right time seeing as the Honkers are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
