Baseball Preview: St. Johns Redskins vs. Tombstone Yellow Jackets        
        
		
            
 The St. Johns Redskins will head out on the road to  take on  the Tombstone Yellow Jackets at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. St. Johns is coming into the  matchup hot, having won their last three games.
 St. Johns is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Wednesday. They came out on top against Phoenix Country Day by a score of  7-4.
  Clance Wiltbank made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  struck out nine batters over  4.1 innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits. Wiltbank was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games he's  played.
 In other batting news,  Michael Bushman was  excellent,  scoring three  runs while going 2-for-4.  Kaden Waite was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Tombstone came up short against Bisbee last Monday and fell  6-3.
 Tombstone saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  DJ Elias, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Hank Moody, who  went 3-for-4 with  an  RBI.
 St. Johns' victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Tombstone, their loss  ended  a  four-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 18-7.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. St. Johns has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 9.1  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Tombstone struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 8.2. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 St. Johns suffered a grim  14-6 defeat to Tombstone  when the teams last played  back in May of 2021. Can St. Johns avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
