Softball Game Preview: Lansdowne Vikings vs. Dundalk Owls

Lansdowne is 2-7 against Dundalk since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Vikings will host the Owls at 4:00 p.m. Lansdowne has given up an average of 14.5 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lansdowne came up short against Hereford on Tuesday, falling 19-9.

Meanwhile, Dundalk didn't have quite enough to beat Carver A&T on Wednesday and fell 10-9. The loss continues a trend for the Owls in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost six in a row.

Kenisha Gelpi and Makayla Woods did some serious damage despite the final result: Gelpi went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Woods went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Carlie Locklear, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Dundalk's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Lansdowne, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
