Capital Prep scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a hard 87-72 fall against the Libertas Academy Charter Lions. The Trailblazers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Capital Prep's loss came despite strong showings from Syre Gillespie and Javaris Spencer. Gillespie dropped a double-double on 36 points and ten rebounds, while Spencer dropped a double-double on 24 points and 17 boards. That was a full 50% of Capital Prep's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Mha'Nye March was another key player, putting up four points and nine rebounds.

Capital Prep is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Libertas Academy Charter, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.

Capital Prep will welcome Classical Magnet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Libertas Academy Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
