Baseball Game Preview: Vista PEAK Prep Bison vs. Grand Junction Tigers

The Vista PEAK Prep Bison will venture away from home to square off against the Grand Junction Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Vista PEAK Prep beat Grand Junction Central 8-3.

Abel Salinas was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Salinas was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eric Houser, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grand Junction). Everything went their way against Rifle on Wednesday as Grand Junction made off with a 12-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Grand Junction's record now sits at 3-1. As for Vista PEAK Prep, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Vista PEAK Prep couldn't quite get it done against Grand Junction when the teams last played back in March of 2022 as they fell 5-1. Can Vista PEAK Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
