Softball Recap: Tottenville Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Tottenville waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Port Richmond Red Raiders a 10-0 shutout. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Raiders, too.

The result came thanks to Unique McMullen's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Daniella Cirillo, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season. Piera Campagna was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Tottenville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Tottenville's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Port Richmond, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Tottenville will square off against Notre Dame Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. As for Port Richmond, they will welcome Wagner at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
