Softball Recap: Highlands Takes a Loss

If Highlands was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Freeport on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Rams came up short against the Derry Trojans on Wednesday, falling 18-2. The Golden Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2018.

Highlands saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Gorney, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Highlands has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Derry, their record is now 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Highlands will challenge rival Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Derry is set to square off against their familiar foe Greensburg Salem at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
