Volleyball Recap: Starlin Smith's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Princeton over Maxwell

Princeton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Maxwell Panthers. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Princeton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Starlin Smith, who had nine digs and three aces.

Princeton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Maxwell, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Princeton will square off against Biggs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Maxwell, they will challenge Mt. Shasta at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
