Basketball Recap: Clayton Valley Charter Victorious

With a playoff win on the line, Clayton Valley Charter rose to the challenge on Friday. They managed a 66-60 win over the Acalanes Dons. That's two games straight that the Ugly Eagles have won by exactly six points.

Elijah Perryman was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 27 points and 11 steals. The contest was his third in a row with at least 23 points. Another player making a difference was Cannon Simpson, who posted nine points.

When it comes to explaining why Acalanes lost, don't look at Gavin Dodge. Despite the final result, he en route to 21 points. Dodge is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last four games he's played. Maddox Malm was another key player, on his way to 14 points.

Clayton Valley Charter is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points over those games. Acalanes' defeat dropped their record down to 21-6.

Clayton Valley Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-49 victory against Las Lomas on the 15th. As for Acalanes, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 78-68 win against Archie Williams on the 18th.
