Stanton and Lutheran-Northeast are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2018, but not for long. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Eagles on Monday. The timing is sure in Stanton's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Lutheran-Northeast has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

On Saturday, Stanton beat Plainview 2-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-16.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Lutheran-Northeast faced off against Guardian Angels Central Catholic on Thursday. The Eagles took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bluejays.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Guardian Angels Central Catholic scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-17.

Lutheran-Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Stanton, their win bumped their record up to 17-6.

Stanton came out on top in a nail-biter against Lutheran-Northeast in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
