Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nimitz). Everything went their way against the MacArthur Cardinals on Tuesday as the Nimitz Vikings made off with a 32-13 win. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won eight in a row.

The team relied heavily on Dani Maloney, who scored six runs and stole Seven bases. while getting on base in all seven of her plate appearances. Those six runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Valdelamar, who got on base in six of her seven plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Nimitz kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.

Nimitz's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-10. As for MacArthur, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9-1.

Nimitz will have a chance to go back-to-back against MacArthur: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
