Recap: Coconino Panthers vs. Mingus Marauders
The Coconino Panthers's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 47-40 victory over Mingus. For Coconino, this counts as revenge for the 53-45 defeat Mingus walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coconino to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madisyn Paddock, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aviana Scharfenberger, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Coconino's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-11. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Mingus, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-4 record this season.
Coconino will head out on the road to take on Lee Williams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mingus, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bradshaw Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
