Basketball Recap: West Greene Comes Up Short

West Greene easily dispatched Chuckey-Doak last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The West Greene Buffaloes fell just short of the Hampton Bulldogs by a score of 51-48 on Friday. The Buffaloes have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hampton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Davenport, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 19 points. Caden Davis was another key player, going 5-for-10 on his way to 11 points and eight rebounds.

West Greene's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Hampton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

West Greene wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 67-54 win against Cosby on the 11th. As for Hampton, they have also already played their next contest, a 65-46 victory against Gate City on the 8th.
