Basketball Recap: Powell County Takes a Loss

Powell County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 32-30 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lee County Bobcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pirates have suffered since December 15, 2023.

Powell County's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Lee County, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-6.

Powell County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-46 defeat against Estill County on the 31st. As for Lee County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-34 loss against Owsley County on the 30th.
