Football Recap: Filer Piles Up the Points Against Battle Mountain

A well-balanced attack led Filer over Battle Mountain in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Wildcats blew the Longhorns out of the water with a 61-6 final score. With the Wildcats ahead 35-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Filer's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Rea, who threw for 359 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 15.6 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 34 yards. Thanks to that big game, Rea is now up to 16 passing touchdowns on the season. Jarrett Mai was another key rusher, rushing for 142 yards and three TDs on only ten carries.

The victory (which was Filer's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Battle Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Filer will host Kimberly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Battle Mountain, they will be playing at home against Yerington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
