Basketball Game Preview: Valley Lutheran Flames vs. San Manuel Miners

The Valley Lutheran Flames will face off against the San Manuel Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Valley Lutheran's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while San Manuel has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Last Tuesday, Valley Lutheran ended up a good deal behind Hayden and lost 52-34. The match marked the Flames' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Defeat or not, Valley Lutheran got some senior leadership from Gary Yang and Luke Henley. Yang went 8 for 10 on his way to 19 points and eight rebounds, while Henley posted five points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Yang a new career-high in points. Anias Macias was another key player, putting up five points.

Meanwhile, San Manuel had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Superior 32-29.

Valley Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for San Manuel, their win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-13.
