Baseball Game Preview: Forest Area Warriors vs. Marion Eagles

The Forest Area Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Marion Eagles on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Forest Area was able to grind out a solid victory over Pellston, taking the game 6-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Marion came out on top against Montabella on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run fifth inning. The Eagles put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 12-2 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Marion has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Forest Area, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.

Forest Area suffered a grim 19-3 defeat to Marion in their previous matchup back in April of 2016. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
