Volleyball Recap: Martin Luther Takes a Loss

Martin Luther lost against St. Joseph back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Spartans lost 3-0 to the Lancers. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-18, 25-17.

Jayda Popa paced Martin Luther's offense, picking up seven kills. Popa got some help from Taryn Armbruster and her 15 assists. Popa was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Martin Luther's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for St. Joseph, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Martin Luther wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Brookfield Academy on the 2nd. As for St. Joseph, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Dominican on the 2nd.
