Baseball Recap: Shadow Creek's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Shadow Creek can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Pasadena Memorial Mavericks. This was a revenge game for the Sharks: when they faced off against the Mavericks last Tuesday, they had to take a 11-9 loss.

Carlos Sepulveda tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dylan Thane was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Lubin Rincon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Shadow Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February.

The victory got Shadow Creek back to even at 10-10. As for Pasadena Memorial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shadow Creek will head out to take on La Porte at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Porte's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Shadow Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pasadena Memorial, they will head out on the road to face off against Pearland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Pasadena Memorial 4.1, Pearland 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
