Softball Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

Liberty extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-9 in the process. They lost 16-0 to the Champion Golden Flashes. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Leopards were not able to get on the board.

As for Champion, their record now sits at 12-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by nine runs or more this season.

For Champion's part, Gabrielle Gradishar made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Gradishar has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Champion got a massive performance out of Adalyn McIntosh, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Taylor Rouan was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Champion beat Liberty by a score of 12-0 later that day.
