League recap: Mondt throws longest pass in league this season for Resurrection Christian

Luke Mondt and Cole Watson provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Wray. The longest such play in 1A North Central this season, the connection resulted in 82 yards.

Holyoke was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from sixth to third in the league. The Dragons beat Wiggins 35-12 earlier in the week.

Resurrection Christian's dynamic duo of Mondt and Watson proved to be unstoppable against the Eagles, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Mondt threw for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns and Watson had 97 yards receiving. Brock Buxman helped Resurrection Christian's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 79 yards.

Mikey Huerta made the biggest impact on defense this week as Wray lost to the Cougars. The 5-foot-10 junior recorded 1 fumble.

Jacob Baca provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Cornerstone Christian Academy lost to Yuma.

Baca was a force in the backfield as the Bulldogs fell to the Indians.

Cornerstone Christian Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nathaniel Ruble has thrown for 991 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Nick Lubin has 26 catches for 472 yards.

Holyoke's Bradley Cumming is a mere 69 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Cumming has rushed for 931 yards on 112 carries so far this year.

Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Cornerstone Christian Academy takes on the Tigers. Tim Naiman's team's offense has recorded 273 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Wiggins has permitted only 102 on the year.

A big matchup in 1A North Central this week will be when Highland takes on Resurrection Christian. The Huskies are currently in seventh, while Mark Roggy's team is in first.

Yuma added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Bulldogs, 14-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for Jeremy Slack's team.
