Softball Game Preview: Ellington Knights vs. South Windsor Bobcats

The Ellington Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the South Windsor Bobcats at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

South Windsor's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Ellington hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Knights never let Rockville get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Saturday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, South Windsor can bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 20-10 margin over Rockville. The Bobcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

South Windsor got a massive performance out of Sienna Michaelson, who got on base in two of her six plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs Michaelson has posted since back in April. Brianna LeGare was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs and one double.

South Windsor picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-12. As for Ellington, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.

Ellington took their win against South Windsor in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
