Soccer Game Preview: Pittsburg vs. Pleasant Grove

The Pittsburg Pirates will square off against the Pleasant Grove Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Pittsburg is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Sulphur Springs just ended the team's 11-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.

Pittsburg's goal came courtesy of Uriel Netro, who's now up to ten this season.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Mount Vernon.

Pittsburg's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 14-4. As for Pleasant Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.

Pittsburg took their victory against Pleasant Grove when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 4-1. Does Pittsburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pleasant Grove turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
