Football Recap: Summerville Comes Up Short on the Road Against Ripon Christian + How To Watch

Summerville had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. The game between the Bears and the Ripon Christian Knights didn't end well, with the Bears falling 35-21. The contest was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Bears couldn't quite close it out.

Ripon Christian can attribute much of their success to Mason Tameling, who threw for 206 yards and a pair of TDs, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. What's more, Tameling racked up 126.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. 87 of Tameling's passing yards were hauled in by Amos Cady, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Summerville and Ripon Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Bears will face off against Denair at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (355 vs. 849). Meanwhile, Ripon Christian (ranked 256th) will meet Le Grand (ranked 691st) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
