Coldspring-Oakhurst hadn't done well against Huntington recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Trojans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over the Red Devils. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 6-1 win the Red Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

Cassidy Loll made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Coldspring-Oakhurst got a big performance out of Ciara Phillips, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Krissie Bennett was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Coldspring-Oakhurst and bumps their season record up to 11-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Huntington, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Coldspring-Oakhurst will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Huntington, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Alto at 6:30 p.m.
