Basketball Recap: Ocoee Knights vs. Windermere Wolverines
If the Ocoee Knights were feeling good off their 71-43 takedown of the West Orange Warriors last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Ocoee took a serious blow against the Wolverines on Tuesday, falling 75-45. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Ocoee of the 71-59 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Justynn Thomas, who scored 17 points. Thomas hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. Joshua Lee-Peeples was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Ocoee's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-8. As for Windermere, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-7.
Ocoee won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. Wekiva has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29. As for Windermere, they will square off against the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Santa Fe Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
