Basketball Recap: Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics Falls Short of NELA Christian Homeschool in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics can now relate to. They took a 34-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the NELA Christian Homeschool Flame. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Flame are ranked 83rd).

Several Storm players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malorie Miller, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Miller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Lonsberry, who scored two points and six blocks.

Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics' defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for NELA Christian Homeschool, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-1.

Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-37 victory against Christian Home Educators Fellowship on the 8th. NELA Christian Homeschool will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cornerstone Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th.
