Baseball Game Preview: Clarinda Cardinals vs. Harlan Cyclones

Clarinda hasn't had much luck against Harlan recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Cardinals will venture away from home to take on the Cyclones at 5:30 p.m. Clarinda is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

On Thursday, it was close, but Clarinda sidestepped Shenandoah for a 4-3 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted against the Mustangs since June 16, 2022.

Meanwhile, Harlan unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 12-2 to Iowa City West. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cyclones have suffered since May 21st.

The win got Clarinda back to even at 5-5. As for Harlan, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Clarinda came out on top in a nail-biter against Harlan when the teams last played back in July of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
