Football Game Preview: Leverett's Chapel Lions vs. Saint Jo Panthers

Leverett's Chapel is 0-3 against Saint Jo since November of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Leverett's Chapel turned things around against Savoy on Friday. They claimed a resounding 70-24 win over the Cardinals. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Saint Jo). They simply couldn't be stopped last Friday as they easily beat Savoy 79-0. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Cardinals are ranked 257th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Saint Jo, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Leverett's Chapel took a serious blow against Saint Jo when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 89-38. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Lions were down 89-38.
