Preview: Phillipsburg Panthers vs. Concordia Panthers
After two games on the road, Phillipsburg is heading back home. They will take on the Concordia Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Phillipsburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Phillipsburg had to settle for a 51-49 defeat against Thomas More Prep-Marian. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Phillipsburg in their matchups with Thomas More Prep-Marian: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the loss, Phillipsburg got a solid performance out of Rad Rodriguez, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rodriguez has scored all season. Rhett Shelton was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Chapman scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, Concordia still came out on top. Concordia secured a 60-56 W over Chapman. The victory was just what Concordia needed coming off of a 61-32 defeat in their prior match.
Phillipsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Concordia, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
