Softball Recap: Lincoln County Lions vs. Ennis Mustangs
Lincoln County was not able to break out of their rough patch in their second game on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell victim to a rough 11-1 defeat at the hands of the Ennis Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lincoln County of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.
Lincoln County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dani Starkey, who went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI.
Lincoln County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Ennis, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Lincoln County is on the road again on Saturday to play Three Forks at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Three Forks' favor is that they have posted big run totals every time they've taken the field this season. As for Ennis, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Columbus at 4:00 p.m. on May 9th.
