Softball Game Preview: Mountain View Bruins vs. Needles Mustangs

The Mountain View Bruins will square off against the Needles Mustangs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games Mountain View has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Mountain View saw some tournament action on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Skyline 10-8.

Miranda Secrist was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Sophie Stoddard, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Mountain View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .533 or higher in six consecutive games.

Needles never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Canyon View on Friday. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 13-7 victory. The Mustangs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Mountain View now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Needles, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
